- Race Photos- I brought a nice digital camera this year, so I have plenty of good pictures.
For starters, these were taken during actual races... Its hard to capture very many planes at
once because they take up such a wide viewing angle.

- Formula One class- these planes are all home-built, and are all required to use an identical engine.
There seems to be a standard kit they build from, with a few variations, along with a few original designs.

- Bi-Plane class- The thing that strikes me most about these racing bi-planes is how small they are!

- AT-6 class- there are many of these old "Texans" around... enough that they are popular racers. They
may seem slow, but they are equally matched, so the race comes down to pure pilot skill.

- Tigercat- I was anxious to see the rare Grumman Tigercat at the show this year. This was a beautiful
plane which would have surely visited the Japanese fleet with carnage and destruction, if allowed.
She was entered to race, but no luck. For whatever reason, I never even saw her fly.

First, the P51 Mustangs seems to be the premier choice for unlimited racing

- The Russian YAKs are showing up more in the unlimited class as well. Many of these were built in
the Czech republic.

- YAK 2
- YAK 3
- Jet Class- This class consists of all identical J-39 Albatros jets- a popular Soviet Union era trainer.
After the cold war, many of these were dumped on the surplus market, and are readily available if you have
the cash.

- Sport Class- This class consists of home-built sport planes, namely Lancair and Glasair. These are
usually fiberglass/composite construction, and generally go very fast.
