Jeff and I took Sophie, Ellie, and Jillian to the Weber State basketball game last night. We had fabulous seats because Brad didn't go and he gave me his tickets (thanks Brad!)

The cheerleaders tossed teddy bears into the crowd and Jeff caught one for Jill.

Here at two future Wildcats.

It was Mascot Night so we got to see the fun characters.

So you know, Weber won big time!

ATK lays off 380 Utah employees
January 28th, 2010 @ 6:37pm
NORTHERN UTAH -- Hundreds of Utah employees at ATK received termination notices Thursday as part of a previously-announced reduction of workforce.
A spokesperson for ATK said the number of employees laid off -- 380 -- is actually fewer than what was originally projected, which was 500. She noted that an additional 50 employees voluntarily left as part of the layoff.
Executives first announced the layoffs in December. They're due to the completion of contracts connected to NASA's space shuttle program, which is ending this year.

This is what you have to expect in January in Utah. Lucky for me I have Nick, the neighbor boy with the snowblower, who can expect to get rich this week based on the forecast.

It took me 1 hour to get to work from North Ogden, a distance of about 11 miles. I just put it in 4 wheel drive and crawled along. Look at the size of the snowflakes on the windshield.
All my relatives and friends who live in warmer climates (most of my family) are chortling in glee right now. My mother said it was 67 degrees in Phoenix yesterday. Not to mention Grandpa who is in Australia where it is close to 100 degrees. He played golf yesterday at 6:00 am.

President Millner announced the Dream Weber program today at a press conference at the state capitol. A generous donor is making it possible for many who need financial help to get a university degree.

Lt. Gov. Bell had many good things to say about our university.

Mike and I were in the crowd. Yes, I look sick and that is because I am sick!

Here is the view out the front door of the capitol. Take a good look at the smog in Salt Lake City. No wonder half of us cannot breathe!

First stop of the day: IHC. Since it is January it is time for my annual sinus infection. Can I just stop for a minute and complain about this? Good grief! My head hurts, my throat hurts, my ears hurt, and I HATE this! Still, it is fun to see my favorite doctor, Frank, who did what he does every year and that is prescribe Levaquin and Flonase. Frank reminded me not to take this stuff on an empty stomach. We talked about health care in general and Frank says we are headed toward rationing, and end of life is costing way too much. I agree. The way I feel today he could do me a favor and just shoot me and we would all save a lot of money.

Second stop of the day: Walgreens. Two prescriptions and the bill was $76.00, and this is only for one week so I have to get a refill on Monday. Frank is right. This all costs too much. And, I was the only one in line and it still took them 20 minutes to put the pills in the bottle. What's up with that????

Third stop of the day: Mrs. Cavanaugh's Chocolates. Hey, Frank said I shouldn't take this medicine on an empty stomach! I got lots of sympathy from Lorraine.
All this stuff made me late for work, so naturally I'm grumpy (and sick). This has all the makings of one of the worst sinus infections I have ever had. Can't stop sneezing and coughing too. Maybe all the Utah bad air has something to do with it.
So you know, Grandpa was playing golf and swimming in Australia yesterday. Hmmmmmm. That's how they work there. They start with golf at 6:00 am.

What do you think Mike is doing? There is a man in the ceiling and Mike is pulling his leg. :)

Here is Grandpa off again to Australia. This time he will be gone for 2 months. His last words: "Boy, I'm going to miss those kids!" Guess I'm chopped liver!
Let the home remodeling begin.

Abby's 13th birthday was December 27th, so we celebrated today. I can't believe it has been 13 years. The day she was born we were skiing at Park City.

Here is what you can expect to happen when you have little boys. Over the holidays, Clara spent about 4 days putting together a very complicated puzzle. During New Year's Day, Reed and Max kept coming into the living room and putting their little hands on the table to touch the puzzle pieces. She would talk them into going away. Still, those little boys saw what she was doing and since she looked like it was fun, they figured they should have some of that fun too. Clara left the puzzle very briefly. When she came back into the living room . . .

Every single puzzle piece was on the floor! No one was around. Not a single soul. Hmmmmmmmm. This is what happens when you have little boys.
Oh yes, the train set had to go to the garage in shambles. Another casualty.
