Ryan Lewis
It was 17 1/2 years ago that my friend, John Caine, came to my house to get me to type something for him since his computer was down. As I was typing I realized it was a relinquishment of parental rights for a newborn. John had a client who was placing a baby for adoption, and it happened that I had a friend, Mike Lewis, who needed a grandchild. John had a very long list of people who wanted this special baby. Mike and Claudia's son Tom and Eileen wanted to adopt a baby. John, being my best friend, could not deny me. John's wife, Sally, and I went to the hospital and kissed every little finger and toe of the new baby boy, dressed him, put him in a car seat, and promptly went to Wendy's for dinner. We brought him to my house where Tom and Eileen picked him up. What a happy day.

We have watched him grow up and now that he is a senior in high school we are very proud. He is planning to go to college and serve an LDS mission. It was fun to see him yesterday. We haven't seen him for at least a year and he has really grown up in the last little while.

Ryan knows how much he is loved. I am lucky to have played a part in his life. I can't wait to see what he does in life. You can see he is a babe-magnet! But, best of all, he is a great young man. He has connected us to the Lewis's forever.
